CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

 

27 years experience graphic, industrial design and advertising.

 

Wayne began Toothpicks Creative Pty Ltd in 1991.

 

Wayne’s passion to succeed in the early days saw him work various jobs including packing the supermarket shelves at night for Coles to keep his business dream alive. He has ridden the peaks and troughs of recession and boom during which time he has honed Toothpicks to a lean and cost effective agency.

 

Over the past 19 years Wayne has managed all kinds of accounts including Boost Juice Bars, Skybus, Dulux, Optus, Telecom, Royal Flying Doctor Service, Shell, Swatch Omega, Spotless Catering, Franke, MCG, Melbourne Girls Grammar, Visy Recycling, various Local Government Councils and Red Cross Victoria.

 

As C.E.O. his passion for design has never dimmed, and he remains hands on in the studio whenever he has the chance.

Leisel Smart

 

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER/ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

 

20 years experience as a financial manager.

 

Leisel Smart as the name implies, has an outstanding history as a funds manager in the financial markets.

 

Leisel’s previous position was managing 6 billion dollars worth of AXA funds, 
and as a high achiever she outperformed her benchmarks with top quartile performing funds over a period of 6 years.

 

She joined Toothpicks Creative in 2006 as our business manager and continues to effectively manage Toothpicks, which adds value to our clients.

 

Paul Melenhorst

 

DESIGN DIRECTOR

 

Paul, a qualified industrial designer and urban planner has over 27 years experience with a major focus on museums and exhibition design.

 

He has worked on various stages of the Australian Gallery of Sport museum and was an integral part of redevelopments of the Great Southern Stand redevelopments at the MCG.

 

Paul has worked as a freelancer internationally with clients including the UNESCO, the US Embassy, and various government departments.

 

Paul is a design polyglot and an integral part of the Toothpicks Creative team.
